Burnley considering January loan for Chelsea outcast

Burnley finds himself winless after his first eight games of the new 2021-22 Premier League season. Now in an aerial fight to avoid relegation to the Championship, Sean Dyche is reportedly looking for an injection of offensive talent once the January window opens.

This is according to a recent report by The sun, who claims the Clarets are aiming for a short-term loan for Chelsea midfielder Ross Barkley.

Barkley, 27, joined Chelsea in 2018 following a £ 15.1 million move from Everton.

Although he is tipped to strengthen, the English midfielder’s time at Stamford Bridge has so far fallen short of expectations.

After continually struggling to earn a starting spot on the Blues squad, Barkley was forced to spend last season on loan with Dean Smith’s Aston Villa.

Despite entering into an early partnership with former Villian skipper Jack Grealish, Barkley’s performance began to decline before he was inevitably sent back to his London-based parent club.

Now back under the leadership of Thomas Tuchel, things seem to be going the same way for the 27-year-old.
