Edu receives three loan alternatives in January for Arsenal’s £ 18million transfer target – Tom Canton

Arsenal appear threatened that their squad will drop considerably in January when the Africa Cup of Nations is set to take place this winter.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Thomas Partey, Mohamed Elneny and Nicolas Pepe are all expected to leave, leaving Mikel Arteta with a difficult task to manage their period of absence. Defense may not be affected, but with three senior personalities, the young team will drop even more in average age.

The widow of the winter transfer could therefore be an opportunity for the club to resolve the problems of the CAN in addition to the injuries that Arsenal could face before that date.

There have already been links with ex-Arsenal player Dani Ceballos. The Spaniard has yet to play for Real Madrid this season due to an ankle problem, but the Gunners are reportedly monitoring his situation.

However, Arsenal technical director Edu would be wise to look elsewhere than a player entering the club completely cold in the first part of the season.

If he even regained physical form, winning minutes against Casemiro, Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, Federico Valverde and Eduardo Camavinga seems exceptionally unlikely.

Therefore, The way of the Arsenal suggested three more loan options for the central midfielder that the Gunners could choose to cover the departures of Partey and Elneny. Note that the options take into account the past experience of players and aim to target individuals who can add the much needed quality and maturity.

The players selected also take into account their motivation to play during the loan period, which is crucial in identifying a temporary option for the team.

Aaron ramsey

The former Arsenal midfielder has been linked with a return to the Premier League for some time, with Everton and Crystal Palace credited with interest.

However, it can hardly be denied the Welshman’s affiliation with Arsenal having been at the club for so many years before he left for Juventus. Aaron Ramsey failed to settle in Turin, however, and his sky-high salary rules out a more permanent move, as does his age profile.

Despite this, a six-month loan on reduced terms could be beneficial for Arsenal and present a straightforward opportunity to push through the door for a quality player driven to succeed at the Emirates. Arsenal could see Aaron Ramsey as a short-term option this winter after the Welshman struggled to establish himself at Juventus.

Hector Herrera

Another experienced figure and former favorite of Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone. The 31-year-old central midfielder has been gradually ousted from the Rojiblancos midfielder by new signing Rodrigo De Paul.

Herrera can provide versatile cover to the Arsenal midfielder in both a number six and a number eight position on the pitch.

He, too, sees his contract with his parent club expire at the end of the 2022 season and will be motivated to win a transfer this summer with strong performances for the remainder of the campaign.

Hector Herrera has been a seasoned servant to Diego Simeone but his lack of playing time could tempt him to try six months in the Premier League with Arsenal.

Marc Roca

Marc Roca represents the youngest option of the three at just 24 years old. At 25 this month, Roca has gone through a rough patch at Bayern Munich since leaving Espanyol.

Bayern have pounced on the Spaniard to replace long-term Javi Martinez. However, Roca’s stint from star artist in Catalonia to the bottom of the pile in Bavaria did not go well.

Marc Roca's time at Bayern Munich so far has been tough, but at just 24 years old Arsenal could have him both short and long term.

He would be unhappy with his situation and a loan from the German club might be just what he needs. Given his age, Arsenal may even be looking to negotiate a possible call option for the player.

With both Elneny and Ainsley Maitland-Niles’ future uncertain, it may be necessary to add more than the much-needed renowned midfielder this summer.

Roca’s quality is evidenced during his time with Espanyol and his time with Bayern should not represent the level of which he is capable. The Spaniard can still prove to be a worthy high level competitor. Arsenal could take advantage of his motivation to succeed and get enough cover in the process.
